On this Friday [Oct 26] of long festival holiday and especially for Eid, Kollywood is gearing up with five Straight Tamil films. Actress turn director Lakshmi Ramakrishnan’s maiden venture Aarohanam, Mayilu, Vavval Pasanga, Chakravarthy Thirumagan and Ariyaan are all set to hit the mega screens today.

Aarohanam directed by veteran actress Lakshmi is a 90mins movie that deals with the domestic issues basically on women. Viji Chandrasekhar, Jayaprakash, Uma Padmanabhan, Kavithalaya Krishnan and Rajee have played the vital roles in Aarohanam with the uplifting beats by K. of Yuddham Sei fame.

Shri and Shammu starred Mayilu directed by Jeevan is also seeing the daylight today. Prakash Raj has produced Mayilu that has music and BGM composed by maestro Ilayaraja among the technical crew.

Vavval Pasanga directed Suresh featuring Rahil and Malayalam actress Uthara Unni is also releasing today. Vavval Pasanga enjoys the music scores of Jerome Pushparaj for the lyrics penned by Kabilan. Along with these Ariyaan and Chakravarthi Thirumagan are also making their release today.

Vijay’s Thuppakki Film casts doctor Prasanth Nair

Thuppakki is the upcoming action thriller of Vijay and Kajal Agarwal that also casts Malayalam actor-doctor Prasanth Nair in one of the pivotal roles.

AR Murugadoss has directed Thuppakki that has doctor Prasanth in a vital role, who has earlier acted in many Malayalam films and advertisements. Prasanth has also won accolades for his work as a neurologist in ‘Diamond Necklace’.

It is being reported that AR Murugadoss is impressed with the performance of Prasanth Nair and reportedly roped him in to play the same role in the Hindi remake of Thuppakki too, which will have Akshay Kumar Playing the lead role. Vimal & Bindu Madhavi in ‘Idhu Pookalin Desam’

Vimal and Bindu Madhavi, who are playing the lead roles in Pandiraj directing ‘Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga’, has started one more film titled ‘Idhu Pookalin Desam’.

Director Ezhil, who has won accolades for his direction in Siva Karthikeyan starred ‘Manam Kotti Paravai’, is directing Idhu Pookalin Desam starring Vimal and Bindu Madhavi in the lead roles. Ezhil has roped in D. Imman to compose music for Idhu Pookalin Desam that has just started.

Meanwhile Vimal and Bindu Madhavi are busy in the sets of Kedi Billa killadi Ranga along with Siva Karthikeyan and Regina, being directed by Pandiraj. And also Vimal is lined up with Rendevathu Padam, Sillunu Oru Sandippu, Moondru Peru Moondru Kaadhal and Bengaluru Thamizhan in his kitty.

Comedy films have wider appeal: Actress Vasundhara

Southern actress Vasundhara Kashyap, who is awaiting the release of her upcoming Tamil romantic-comedy ‘Sonna Puriyadhu’, enjoys doing fun films.

“Let’s admit it, sex and comedy sell in this industry. All my roles have been physically demanding, so I enjoyed working in ‘Sonna Puriyadhu’ because it was quite different from the roles I’ve done before and comedy films have a wider appeal,” said Vasundhara.

Further she added, “I play a homely girl in the film and didn’t get to crack jokes or act funny, yet there is a lot of scope for comedy in the film.” Vasundhara praises her co-star Shiva for his comic timing in the movie and said: “Shiva makes the most difficult scenes look simple with his impeccable timing for comedy.”

Directed by debutant Krishnan Jayaraj, major parts of “Sonna Puriyadhu” was shot in Chennai and Gobichettipalayam, while the songs were canned in Bangkok. The film revolves around a young man, who is against marriage, but his friends want him to try it and makers are planning to release the film in December.

Anirudh Ravichandar 2nd with Bejoy Nambiar

Young composer Anirudh Ravichander, who has even debuted into Bollywood with in a year of his debut into Kollywood with 3, is now all set to sign his second Hindi movie continuously with Bejoy Nambiar.

As Filmy365.com earlier reported viewers, Anirudh is composing the music and BGM for Vikram, Jeeva, Sarika starrer bilingual movie David in the direction of Bejoy Nambiar. Reportedly the 3 composer has given some traditional tunes for David, which has impressed the director and set way to sign his next movie too.

Anirudh Ravichander also lined up with Dhanush’s maiden production film Ethir Neechal, Kiruthiga Udhayandhi’s debutant directorial and touted to sign Siruthai Siva’s upcoming project with Thala Ajith. If everything falls in the right place Anirudh will once again team up with Bejoy Nambiar for their next.
